The Infection

"We'll be alright in here." Artemis said quietly.
"Dante!" Mikey almost shouted when he saw him, quickly rushing over to him.
"Most of the other teachers are boring."
Oliver smiled and hugged him.

"I'm not worried about in here... Its when we finally have to go out to get food and things like that..." Alex said softly.
Dante smiled at his friend, "Your okay! I thought you already headed home."
Phil quickly followed not wanting to be alone.
"True I suppose."
Connor hugged his brother back.
Adam one of the school doctors sighed as he looked at his friend.

"Oh yeah..." Artemis frowned. "That'll be hard."
"Well, I was about to..."
"You don't have to agree." Cullum chuckled.
"It'll be alright... I hope." Oliver sighed.
"What is it?" Casey asked, watching Adam curiously.

Alex squeezed Artemis's hand softly. "I suppose we shouldn't worry about it for now..."
"Then it all went crazy?" Dante guessed.
Liam chuckled, "I don't always remember."
"With you here I think it will be." Connor said softly.
"Its gotten too quiet now..."

"Not until we need to." Artemis said, agreeing with him.
"Uh- yeah, something like that." Mikey mumbled.
"Why's that hm?"
Oliver laughed. "How does that make sure of it?"
Casey frowned. "What do you mean?"

Alex tried to relax a little.
"What happened Mikey?" Dante asked.
"Cause that's how I am."
"Cause you always make stuff better." Connor answered.
"You'd think if the police had everything under control they would of been in here to talk by now..."

Artemis wrapped an arm around Alex, hugging him close.
"I... I don't know." Mikey whimpered, looking back the way he'd come from. "I was about to leave the school and- and these people came out of nowhere..."
"Oh?" Callum smirked and raised an eyebrow. "Since when?"
"I do?"
Casey slowly nodded. "True..."

Alex relaxed against Artemis and slowly closed his eyes.
Dante hugged his friend. "Its okay, the school will be safe."
"Since always." Liam answered.
Connor nodded, "Course brother."
Adam sighed, "So things must still being going on outside the school.

"Try and relax...while we can." Artemis said quietly.
"Are you sure?" Mikey asked.
Callum shook his head.
"How so?" Oliver asked.
Casey nervously brushed a hand though his hair. "And we have to sit here?"

"I know..." Alex said softly.
"Of course." Dante answered with a small smile, hoping to make Mikey feel better.
Zane's stomach decided then to growl.
"You make me feel safe." Connor answered.
"I suppose we can go to the cafeteria for a little while." Adam mused.

Artemis sighed and kissed his head.
"Alright." Mikey said quietly.
"Something wrong?" Callum asked, looking over at him.
Oliver smiled a little. "I do?"
Casey chuckled. "You're hungry, aren't you?"

Alex almost started to doze off.
Dante smiled. "Come on, we should head back to the music room."
"Hungry..." Zane answered with a small chuckle.
Connor nodded. "Yes."
Adam chuckled, "Yeah."

"You alright?" Artemis asked.
"Good idea." Jacen nodded.
Callum sighed and looked back at Liam.
"Since when?"
Casey rolled his eyes. "Fine, we can go."

"Little tired, sorry." Alex said softly.
Dante started back towards the music room.
"Well I suppose we can have head to cafeteria."
"Ever since we were little."
Adam smiled, "Come on."

"It's probably not a good idea to rest yet though." Artemis frowned.
Jacen hesitated for a moment before following after him.
"Will it be safe to?" Callum asked.
"Really?"
Casey smiled and got up. "I'm coming."

"Your right..." Alex said as he slowly sat up.
Dante hurried into the music room.
"The building seems to be quiet." Liam answered.
Connor nodded with a small smile.
Adam smiled before grabbing a nearby bat.

Artemis leaned close and shyly kissed his cheek.
Jacen quickly followed after Dante.
"Doesn't mean we shouldn't be careful."
"I see." Oliver chuckled.
"Is that going to help?" Casey asked.

Alex smiled shyly and kissed his cheek back.
Dante stopped when he saw Artemis and Alex.
"We will be careful." Liam said.
Connor smiled.
"I think so." Adam said.

"What?" Jacen asked Dante, not having seen them.
"Hopefully." Callum said.
Oliver smiled. "Thank you."
Casey shrugged his shoulders. "Well it's better than nothing I guess."

Dante pointed to where Artemis and Alex were.
Liam nodded. "Come on kids."
Connor smiled before looking at Liam.
Adam nodded with a smile.

"What...?" Jacen asked again, just seeing the two of them sitting together.
"Hey, I'm not a kid." Oliver said to Liam.
Casey smiled back before looking around the room. "Do we have anything else?"

"Oh... Nothing..." Dante said softly before moving deeper into the room.
"Oh sorry, we're going to get food from the cafeteria."
"We may have a pipe or another bat." Adam answered.

Jacen rolled his eyes. "Fine."
Oliver nodded. "Okay then."
"Why do we have those things again?" Casey asked.

"Hey Dante." Alex said with a small smile to the younger teen, "You guys didn't run into any problems right?"
Connor nodded and slowly got up.
"I think they got left in here last summer."

"We were fine." Jacen told Alex as he came up behind Dante.
"I guess we take the shortest way there?" Callum said to Liam.
Casey shook his head. "Crazy people..." He muttered.
