Protectors To The Guardians

Joseph sat watching the griffin with a small smile, glad to see it more relaxed now.

"It was freezing in winter." Mikey pouted.

"From what I've heard you do just fine." Vincent told him.

Frankie was calm when he was near his new wolf friend, he paused his cleaning to look at Jacen.

"That sucks, I had a water person that kept putting out the fire I was trying to protect her with."

Alex gave a small smile, "Thank you."

Jacen had his eyes closed, but was still awake, relaxing.

"Sounds fun..." Mikey said, pulling a face.

"For what?" Vincent asked.

Frankie smiled to himself and continued to clean his feathers.

"Yeah, nearly got killed..."

"For talking to me instead of lecturing about how stay close and control my dragon carefully." Alex said with a small smile.

Jacen rolled onto his back, playfully sticking his tongue out as he looked up at Frankie.

"You did?" Mikey asked, frowning.

"What would be the point in that?"

Frankie tail moved faster and he crouched playfully.

"Yep... Why I got reassigned." Zane answered.

"Most protectors see that it's their duty to remind me."

The wolf reached a paw up, playfully swatting at him.

Mikey nodded. "Probably a good idea."

"Unless they're yours, it's not really their place to say." Vincent said.

Frankie playfully jumped back before jumping forward again to nudge him with his head.

Zane nodded. "Yeah."

Alex nodded.

Jacen responded with a small bark, reaching a paw up again.

"Safer at least..."

"Don't worry about them." Vincent said with a small smile.

Frankie let him touch him with his paw.

Zane nodded. "Yeah, I hope we work well together."

Alex nodded with a smile, "I won't, thank you."

Having expected him to move again, Jacen froze when he accidentally ended up putting his paw on the griffin's cheek, quickly pulling it away after a moment.

Mikey gave a small nod. "Yeah..."

"Good." Vincent smiled.

Frankie froze when Jacen froze, scared he had done something wrong. His mind reminding him what happened when he did something seen as wrong by his old protector. He backed away slowly, his head low as he hoped he wasn't hit.

Zane smiled, "Lets got trade in our files to finish this."

Alex smiled respectfully and turned to leave, feeling restless.

Jacen made a whining sound when Frankie backed away, slowly rolling back onto his feet, crouched low to the ground, not sure what he was doing.
"What is it?" Joseph frowned when he saw.

Mikey gave a small smile and nodded, getting up. He pouted a little when he had to look up to see Zane properly.

Vincent watched him go before going to check on some of the others.

Frankie lowered himself to the ground with a soft scared noise.
A older guardian named Stevie sighed, having been watching. "He's scared... The counsel took him away from his last protector... Because the protector was abusing him..."

Zane chuckles softly at his pout.

Alex continued to walk around the large building.

Joseph frowned and shook his head at the news. "Why?"

"Wha-at?" Mikey whined, not sure what he was laughing at.

"Some protectors can turn sour when they get sick of taking care of their guardians."

Zane smiled, "Oh nothing, your just too adorable kid."

"Why not just pass them on when they get tired of it instead?" Joseph asked.

"I- what?" Mikey asked, blushing a bit.

Stevie shrugged with a sigh, "I don't know why..."
Frankie looked up at Jacen.

Zane smiled as he saw his blush.

"Idiots." Joseph muttered.
Jacen reached a paw up and gently poked him.

Mikey smiled and looked away, nervously rubbing his neck.

Stevie nodded before moving with a sigh.
Frankie blinked at the gentle poke and carefully poked back.

Zane offered his hand to Mikey.

Leo frowned as he looked for Alex.

Joseph ran a hand through his hair as he watched the two guardians, smiling a little.
Jacen sat in front of him, happily flicking his tail.
Artemis smiled at them before getting up to go get a drink.

After hesitatng for a moment, Mikey shyly reached out to take his hand.

Frankie tailed moved again when he realized he wasn't in trouble.
Leo stopped when he saw the protector he had bumped into.
Alex stood at the table holding the drinks.

Zane smiled sweetly at him before leading him to were they had to give the paperwork.

"Told you it was alright." Joseph said softly to Frankie.
"Oh- I um... I'm sorry." Artemis mumbled, not realising it was Leo again.

Mikey gave a small smile back, walking with him.

Frankie looked over at Joseph with his tail still moving.
"Don't have to be sorry, you didn't do anything wrong." Leo replied

Zane handed over his paper work and waited.

"You hungry?" Joseph asked him and Jacen.
"Should be paying more attention..." Artemis mumbled.

Mikey shyly glanced up at him.
